What is an External ONT Type?
An external ONT is an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) located on the outside of your premises. This type of ONT can only access a maximum speed of 50Mbps, so if you have a need for more speed, you can request a FREE upgrade.
How to get speeds greater than 50Mbps.
Once you have signed up with a 50Mbps plan, you can request a FREE upgrade via web chat, phone or email ([email protected]).
What is Opticomm Velocity?
The name Opticomm Velocity refers to the transition of Telstra Velocity customers onto the Opticomm network.
In 2020, Telstra Velocity was purchased by Uniti, and existing Telstra Velocity customers are being switched over to the Opticomm network – a next-generation fibre technology network.
Due to the Opticomm network transition, customers will need to choose a new Retail Service Provider (RSP) to provide a home internet service on the Opticomm network.
