Changes to our nbn & Opticomm plan prices
From 1 July 2026, our nbn internet plan prices will be increasing. This decision was not made lightly, and we want to be transparent about why it’s happening.
The costs of providing our internet services have grown significantly this year. This is primarily due to an average increase of 3.63% in nbn’s wholesale pricing. We’ve also seen an increase in other operating costs, with data centres, network equipment, wages, and insurance being key drivers.
At Leaptel, our priority is to provide a high-quality internet experience backed by exceptional local support, and it’s not something we’re willing to compromise on. Delivering that comes at a cost, which is why we’ve made the decision to adjust our pricing.

How will this change impact existing customers?
In recognition of the loyalty of our long-term customers, we will be offering Members Plan pricing to long-term customers on nbn plans. Members Plan prices will generally be increased by less than plan prices for new customers.
In most cases this will only be a dollar or two difference, but we wanted to do what we could to thank those who continue to choose Leaptel for their internet needs.
Will any other plan prices be changing?
From 1 July, our Opticomm plan pricing will also be adjusted to match our nbn plan pricing.
This means lower prices for new and existing customers on certain plans, including our Superfast (750/50 Mbps) and Ultrafast (1000/100 Mbps) plans. Our high upload speed Plus plans have the biggest savings, with the price of our Ultrafast + (1000/400 Mbps) plan decreasing by $30 a month.
If you’re a Leaptel customer on the Opticomm network, you can take advantage of the new pricing today by changing plans in your Members Portal.
How will I know if my plan price is changing?
During July we’ll be contacting customers via email to notify them of changes to their plan price at least 30 days before any changes take effect.

At Leaptel, we’re committed to investing every dollar we can in providing the best service possible.
Being available when our customers need us most is a big part of that, which is why we recently increased the support hours of our Melbourne call centre by 2 hours each weekday.
Enhancing our network quality is also top of mind, and something we continue to dedicate extensive resourcing to. It’s incredibly rewarding to see these efforts gain recognition in the ACCC Measuring Broadband Australia report, in which we’ve achieved the fastest 1Gbps nbn provider for 6 consecutive quarters.
