What is a New Development Charge (NDC)?
An NDC is a one-off government-mandated fee that wholesale internet companies (like nbn and Opticomm) charge customers connecting to the internet for the first time. It serves as a contribution to the cost of building internet infrastructure in new development areas.
How much is an NDC?
NDCs vary depending on the access network provider. Please see the table below for current costs.

How will I know if I need to pay an NDC?
If an NDC applies to your service, it will show up in your order summary during the sign-up process. All NDCs need to be paid on sign-up before your order can be submitted.
Can I pay the NDC in installments?
We don’t offer payment plans for NDCs. The fee needs to be paid in full before your order can be submitted.
If I’m a renter, is the landlord responsible for paying the NDC?
You’re welcome to raise the NDC with your Landlord or Real Estate Agent, however it’s not guaranteed that they’ll cover the cost.
Please note that the fee will need to be paid before we can proceed with your order.
